🔒 Part 1: Send an Encrypted Message

Follow these steps to ensure your message is secure and only we can read it.

1. Get Our Public Key

Copy our PGP public key from our Secure Contact page. It’s also available below:

2. Import the Key

  • GPG (command line): Save the key to a file (e.g., sentinel.asc) and run gpg --import sentinel.asc.
  • GPGTools (macOS): Double‑click the key block or use GPG Keychain → Import.
  • Kleopatra (Windows): File → Import Certificates.
  • OpenPGP.js (web): Paste the key into the OpenPGP.js demo and use the "Encrypt" tab.

3. Encrypt Your Message

  • Write your message (plain text).
  • Using your PGP tool, encrypt it for admin@sentinelduediligence.online.
  • The output will be a block starting with -----BEGIN PGP MESSAGE-----.

4. Send the Encrypted Block

  • Paste the entire encrypted block into a new email.
  • Send it to admin@sentinelduediligence.online.
  • Optional: If you want us to encrypt our reply, include your own public key in the email (or you can attach it).
🔐 Why this is secure: Only we possess the private key that can decrypt your message. Even if intercepted, the content remains unreadable.

🛡️ Part 2: Decrypt & Verify Our Response

When we reply, we will either:

  • Encrypt the reply using your public key (if you provided it), or
  • Sign the reply with our private key (so you can verify it came from us).

Here’s how to handle both cases:

Case A: You receive an encrypted reply

  • The email will contain a -----BEGIN PGP MESSAGE----- block.
  • Save that block to a file (e.g., reply.asc).
  • Decrypt it with your private key:
    • GPG: gpg --decrypt reply.asc
    • GPGTools/Kleopatra: Open the file and decrypt.
  • You’ll be prompted for your private key passphrase – enter it to read the plaintext.

Case B: You receive a signed (but not encrypted) reply

  • The email will contain a -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- block and a signature block.
  • Copy the entire signed message (both blocks).
  • Paste it into our PGP Verification page.
  • The tool will confirm whether the signature is valid – this proves the email truly came from us.
✅ Verification is key: Always verify our signature to ensure you’re not being spoofed. Our public key is published on our website – never trust a key from an email alone.

⚠️ Troubleshooting

  • “No valid OpenPGP data found.” – Make sure you copied the entire message block, including the -----BEGIN and -----END lines.
  • “Can’t decrypt: No secret key” – You need to have your own private key imported. If you haven’t generated one, create a key pair first.
  • “Signature verification failed” – Either the message was altered, or you’re using the wrong public key. Double‑check you imported our key correctly.
  • Passphrase forgotten? – Unfortunately, there’s no way to recover a PGP private key without the passphrase. You’ll need to generate a new key pair.
